Father and son busted for weed
A midday raid at a tire shop on Central American Boulevard in Belize City on Thursday led to the arrest of a father and son on narcotics charges. Sixty-seven year old Generio Gallego was at the tire shop when Police searched and found two hundred and thirteen grams of marijuana hidden inside a tire. His son, thirty-three year old Jose Gallego, showed up minutes after and told Police that the marijuana belonged to him. Despite that, both father and son were detained and arraigned before Magistrate Dale Cayetano for drug trafficking. Jose again took responsibility for the marijuana in front of the Magistrate and pleaded guilty to one count of Drug Trafficking. The charge against Generio was then withdrawn, and the younger Gallego was treated with leniency and no jail time, but was ordered to pay ten thousand dollars which he is to make good on by the end of August, 2013.
