D.F.C. hearings postponed due to chairman?s illness
The Commission of Inquiry into the operations of the Development Finance Corporation will not resume its public hearings this week as scheduled. A release from the Commission explains that due to urgent medical treatment being received by Chairman David Price, the hearings have been indefinitely postponed. It is understood that Price is undergoing tests to determine the seriousness of his ailments and his ability to continue in his demanding role will be known shortly. If it is determined that he is unable to carry on in his post, it would be necessary to appoint a new chairman acceptable to both Government and the Trade Union Congress. The other two Commission members are Merlene Bailey Martinez and Herbert Lord.
