Principal assaulted by mother of student

Stephanie Welch

A woman was charged today with attacking the principal of a school.  Thirty-two year old Stephanie Welch is accused of slapping and pushing the principal of a primary school in Hattieville last Friday, in front of her students. Welch, the mother of a twelve year old child, was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court for Common Assault.  Principal Kimberly Ramclam told police she was in her class when she heard someone calling her name.  She found three of her students, one crying and the other with a cut on her lip; they were apparently attacked by Welch’s daughter. Ramclam is said to have reprimanded the child and soon after, Welch arrived at the school and allegedly attacked the principal. Welch pleaded not guilty to the charge of common assault upon Principal Ramclam. Welch also faces charges for a report made on March twenty-sixth where it is alleged she threatened to burn down Elvorine Fuller’s home. Welch also pleaded not guilty to that offence.  Magistrate Dale Cayetano offered her bail in the sum of one thousand dollars plus one surety of the same amount. She was unable to meet bail and has since been remanded.

There you have it folks. Poor example set by a parent. Any wonder where the daughter got that violent attitude from? I think the court needs to throw the books at her and make an example out of her butt.

When a person is on bail for one crime, and then is charged with committing ANOTHER CRIME, THERE SHOULD BE NO MORE BAIL! At some point courts have to use commonsense and protect the public.

Here seems to be another incompetent mother, and probably another situation where our virtual absence of mental health facilities is glaring. I think the daughter should be taken away from the custody of this violent parent, at least pending a full mental examination and investigation into her fitness to raise a child. Right now, she appears to be a pretty poor role model.

Another reason why violence is so prevailing in Belize.

These are the type of children we need tro keep in schools…. being not only a threat to other children but also now a threat to the teachers and principal….

Nice move Patrick to have the budget of the schools tied to these type of people!!!

Of course that’s where we need the highly trained psychologists that are notably missing from our schools…. but we still DREAM of running our schools like US high schools…. good way of charting our schools University Of North Florida!!!!…. just send us down your shrinks to ehlp us run them like you do… soon the mass shootings will start!!!

see this is the main reason why violence is so prevailing in Belize; its bottom of the barrel parents like these who encourage their children by example of this behaviour why today we have gangs, thiefs and murderers. Then the other sad part of the matter that further contributes and comlicates is that we have politicians, lawyers and society at large tolerating this foolishness………

…..there is a lot more to come of the seeds sown in our society
