Port provides prizes in CitCo competition

Schools were not the only ones benefiting from the generosity of the public. This afternoon Belize City Mayor Zenaida Moya stopped by Port of Belize Limited to pick up her donation from C.E.O. Reynaldo Guerrero.

?The City Council had a?they were giving out awards for the best decorated business or residence within the city and so they approached us and we agreed to donate three refrigerators to the top winners of the contest that they had. So what we are doing is giving the refrigerators to the City Council, the mayor herself and then they in turn will then give it to the winners of the contest.?

?They just had to really fix up their homes a bit, in terms of if it was a little bit unpainted, get their homes painted and if it was already painted, just fix it up a bit. The committee will be going around very shortly, I believe this week they will be going around to decide upon the winners.?

The refrigerators are valued at about five thousand dollars. The beautification competition is being held in conjunction with the Belize Tourism Board. Deadline for entry was September eighth.
