CLICO portfolio absorbed by RF&G
The local branch of Colonial Life Insurance Company (CLICO) is officially no more. That’s the word coming from the Supervisor of Insurance, Alma Gomez. In a release issued today, it was confirmed that the CLICO portfolio will be transferred to RF&G Life Insurance Company. On Monday, Justice Michelle Arana granted the order for the transfer. It is expected that RF&G will be serving their new clients by September first. Meanwhile, CLICO policyholders are advised to continue paying their premiums at the Belize Bank branches countrywide, authorized agents or the CLICO office in Corozal Town. That takes care of life insurance clients, but Executive Flexible Premium Annuity (E.F.P.A) policies will not be included in the transfer of the portfolio. The Supervisor of Insurance is expected to issue further information to E.F.P.A. policyholders.
