10 year old Dangriga girl killed while riding bike
A young Dangriga resident is dead, the victim of a collision between her bicycle and a car. Ten year old Ranisha Tabon was riding her black beach cruiser around seven on Saturday morning when she was knocked down and later died at the Southern Regional Hospital. The driver held responsible for the child’s death is twenty-two year old Marshall Mehia, a B.D.F. soldier. Mehia told Dangriga police that around seven that morning he was driving his Toyota Four Runner along Aranda’s Crescent but upon reaching an intersection with Gatsby Ramos Road he saw a young girl riding a bike suddenly swerve in his path. This morning Mehia appeared in Dangriga Magistrate’s Court where he was arraigned on charges of Manslaughter by Negligence, Causing Death by Careless Conduct, Driving Without Due Care and Attention, Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle and Driving Without a Driver’s License.
