Accused rapist arrested by Benque cops

A month ago a ten year old girl residing in a rural area of the Cayo District was horribly attacked and raped by a man who had entered the family home by pretending he needed food. The attack was so vicious that it left the little girl hospitalized for a week. Since the incident, Benque Viejo police have been looking for the rapist but it was not until today that authorities caught up with their suspect. He is thirty-seven year old Guatemalan Rene Chavez Ramos and he has been charged with Rape and Carnal Knowledge. On August Second, the child’s father returned home to find his daughter lying in a hammock traumatized and vomiting. Authorities say the child was able to identify her attacker after she pointed him out through a special one way mirror only recently installed at the Benque police station.
