Dangriga burglar arrested and charged

Meanwhile, separate attacks against residents in Dangriga have resulted in arrests for rape, attempted robbery and attempted murder. The first incident took place early Sunday morning on Sharp Street in the southern municipality. According to sixty-five year old Windell Nunez, he was awakened from sleep by the sounds of two men ransacking his house. Nunez reported that as he began to struggle with one of the perpetrators, the other hit him in the head with a blunt object. The thieves disappeared with loot, leaving Nunez on the floor. When help arrived, the homeowner was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital suffering from a serious head wound. Subsequent investigations into the incident have led police to arrest twenty-six year old Frank Arzu. Arzu has since been charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm and burglary. We understand that similar charges will be filed against Arzu’s co-conspirator as soon as he is detained.
