32 Belizeans honoured in Tribute to Belizean Patriots

Thirty-two Belizeans were honoured last night in the annual Tribute to Belizean Patriots, held at the Bliss. Twelve women and thirteen men from all over the country received the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of Independence Award for outstanding contribution to building Belize, while five veteran public officers were recognised: Gladys Bernard with the Meritorious Service Award and Sir Edny Cain, Severo Pinto, Rudy Castillo and Bobby Leslie with the Order of Distinguished Service. The prestigious Order of Belize was bestowed upon Meg Craig for her many cultural contributions and Assad Shoman for his work in politics, diplomacy and literature.
