Suspect arrested in city shooting
Four days after he opened fire on a residence on Periwinkle Street, wounding twenty-two year old Everett Gillett, today police arrested the man they believe is the shooter. Eighteen year old Dorian Sutherland has been charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and three counts of aggravated assault. Residents say around eight forty on Monday night a blue van pulled up in front of the wooden building. Two men got out of the vehicle and fired as many as eight shots. Gillett, who was inside the house at the time, was hit in the abdomen and remains in a stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Police say they do not yet have a motive for the shooting and continue to look for a second suspect.
