Orange Walk resident busted twice with stolen passports and immigrants

In 2008, a passport, as well as other personal items belonging to OCEANA V.P., Audrey Matura-Shepherd, was reported stolen when someone broke into her parked vehicle on Regent Street.  The disappearance of the travel document would go unsolved for several years until it was recovered from the home of Orange Walk resident Matthew Williams.  Matura-Shepherd was subsequently notified by police of the retrieval of the passport and was asked to confirm that it indeed belonged to her.  While the signatures and other pertinent information checked out, Matura-Shepherd discovered that her I.D. picture had been replaced.  Following its loss, the document was allegedly used a number of times to allow its bearer into Mexico.  Similarly, on June twenty-third, 2012, Williams was found with another passport belonging to Anna Marie Franklin.  He has since been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Passport.  Earlier this year, Williams was detained and later released from police custody, following a bust by Ladyville police during which fifteen illegal immigrants were caught inside a vehicle that he rented to a group of men. But in this instance, he was never charged.

This person seems to be a human trafficking ring leader. Both US and local authorities should have a very close eye on him.

Matthews can be charged for possessing the stolen passport, so let’s lock him up for that. If a crooked politician wants to protect him, let’s lock up the crooked politician, too.
