HANDS Foundation pays all S.C. West school fees

For the second year in a row, schools and parents in the Stann Creek West constituency will be receiving some much needed financial relief. The money, totalling over two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, was handed over to schools today in a ceremony at ITVET in the Stann Creek Valley. It is the first of two disbursements courtesy of the HANDS Foundation and covers tuition and registration fees for some eight thousand students in twenty primary and four high schools. When the second instalment is made later this year, the total amount disbursed by the Foundation will amount to almost half a million dollars. The HANDS Foundation was established in 2004 and is an initiative of Area Rep and Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Rodwell Ferguson.
