Imer Hernandez will not comment on San Antonio

Imer Hernandez – he’s the man at the center of the San Antonio Road controversy in Orange Walk Town. The nephew of Deputy Prime Minister Gaspar Vega, Hernandez drew media attention after government vouchers surfaced showing that he had been paid for the paving of the San Antonio Road even though that road had not been paved according to residents. Prime Minister Dean Barrow has said that instead the money was paid to Hernandez for road works he did elsewhere. Deputy Prime Minister Vega refused to make comments on Friday in Orange Walk Town when he was asked by the media pool for an answer as about the San Antonio road and that if instead his street was paved.  Vega had absolutely no response and neither has Hernandez answered questions about the alleged two hundred thousand dollar payment in different vouchers. When the scandal broke last week, Hernandez was contacted by News Five. He claimed that he would willingly give an interview to clear his name, but that he needed time to prepare his documents. Calls to him all during the week got the same response, but today when News Five called him he told us point blank that he had decided not to speak to the media.

  5. Storm says:

Imer, we don’t want you to give an interview, we want you to GIVE BACK THE MONEY YOU STOLE!

Then I’d still like to see you in prison — giving it back now is like a bank robber giving back the loot after he is caught.

Everyone involved in this corrupt deal needs to spend some years in prison to contemplate their sins against the people.
