Third suspect charged in Pook murder
A third man wanted for the murder of twenty year old David Pook has been arrested. Twenty-six year old Edward Henry was turned over to authorities at the Queen Street Police Station by his uncle, Police Sergeant Percival Henry on Friday. Apparently the murder suspect was camping out in San Lazaro village in the Orange Walk district … that is until his family found out where he was. The younger Henry has since been charged with murder and remanded to Hattieville Prison. He will meet his alleged accomplice, Clarence Grant, in jail, while the accused mastermind behind the deadly attack, Ronell Gonzalez, remains in police detention in Los Angeles, pending extradition to Belize later this week. A fourth man, identified only as Howard, has yet to be detained. Police say the four men stabbed Pook to death following a fight between the victim and Gonzalez over a woman.
Meanwhile, San Ignacio police say that the three men detained for questioning following the death of eighteen year Samuel Tesecum early Thursday have been released. Tesecum’s twelve year old brother Bartimeus has reported that he and Samuel were sleeping at the Barton Creek Outpost Lodge when two men armed with machetes attacked them. Bartimeus escaped but continues to recuperate from chop wounds to his head and back at the San Ignacio Hospital.
