No charges yet for Grijalva for devastation of Noh Mul
It has been almost one month since the Mayan monument Noh Mul in northern Orange Walk was destroyed without any charges levied against the culprits. The trucks and heavy equipment which destroyed the monument were caught in the act, and Denny Grijalva, the owner of the company has accepted responsibility. And according to a credible source, it will be long before any charges are filed. News Five understands that the Noh Mul file has just been handed to the Director of Public Prosecutions Cheryl-Lynn Vidal, and reports are that there were no statements presented with that file, just news reports on the destruction. Our source told us that based on what was presented no charges could be brought, and the Orange Walk Police Department was instructed to conduct a proper investigation with statements before the D.P.P. can take appropriate action. News Five has also received credible information that despite claims that the landowner gave permission to Denny Grijalva’s company to take material from that site, he is now insisting that he gave no such permission. Police sources tell us that all persons involved can be held liable in the Noh Mul matter, including truck drivers and the landowner.
no charges ever.
He has UDP insurance.
This pm needs to be locked up for doing nothing he is in collusion with these thieves and murderers people need to go to jail locked up and it needs to start with the pm of this country for collusion .
This goes against evey fiber of my being but Rod is actually right, it is indeed called collusion and can be classified as aiding and abetting. If your associates commit a crime with your knowledge and you associate yourself with known criminals then you are considered a criminal under the law. But I guess the law is what these criminals in necktie say it is. Bow down to your masters you Belizean peasants. They do what they want and when they walk into your homes and rape your wives and daughters and take away your property will you still consider them your Gods and do nothing.
If it’s true that in one month the police didn’t manage to find one piece of evidence or interview one witness, that they only watched television and turned that over to DPP, THAT’S A DISGRACE TO THE POLICE FORCE! Since when are our criminal cases tried by what is shown on television?
Whoever ran that investigation should be fired or demoted to the bottom of the heap. What’s your opinion of this “investigation,” Mr. Whylie?
Now he gets the municipal airport contract for free fill to fix his last mess and save face.
do we have incompetent officers in the force who cannot conduct an investigation? OR is it that we know that there was political interference and conveniently evidence will not come forward? All eyes are on Belize and corruption stinks way to Russia…
We looks like a bunch of idiots in the international community!!!! Thanks for keeping the stereotype alive of backward, corrupt third world people!!!!
Do something you incompetent government!!!!!
We all know; GOB does not fear accountability for any crime in this country; We do the same thing over and over; Complain! Quit complaining and r a p e them in return. this ! @ # $ is outrageous.
One day, soon I pray, our people will rise up because the chosen few have been committing crimes like this, and worse, with protection from elected officials. Popular justice can be a harsh and ugly thing, but necessary.
I hate oppression and oppressors, and that’s what this ugly, unjust situation demonstrates.
Citizens of Belize unite, you have nothing to lose but your chains!
Belize judicial system needs a general overhaul, starting from the top to bottom. It seems that know one knows how to do a proper investigation and take statements or Belize is govern by Dictatorship.
I SAY CALL A REELECTION!!
