Machete attack ends in arrest for attempted murder

A Belize City teen has been arrested for attempted murder following a stabbing on Tuesday afternoon. According to police, nineteen year old Marvin Sheron has reported that as he was riding his bike along Newtown Barracks around three thirty, a man with a machete attacked him. The assailant’s blade struck Sheron on both hands and on the right side of his head. He was rushed to the K.H.M.H. where he remains in serious but stable condition. The perpetrator has since been identified as nineteen year old Deon Baltazar. He has since been charged with Attempted Murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm. Investigators say the motive behind the attack is still unclear.
