Well known Caribbean musician, Glen Washington in Belize

Legendary Reggae artist Glen Washington is back in the Jewel after thirteen years.  The soulful crooner is here to perform for one night only during a pre-Father’s Day concert at the Princess Poolside.  Washington arrived at the PGIA this morning, where he was greeted by the show’s promoters.  He is famous for his love songs, including Number One Girl and several others.  Washington took the opportunity to invite fans of his music to come out and support the one-night-only performance.

“Since the last time, we have recorded so many songs, over five hundred songs so you know what’s gonna happen. If you don’t take me off the stage, we are not going to stop.”

Isani Cayetano

“How does it feel being back to Belize after so long?”

“It is a good vibe. And you know there is something that I need to address and I am going to address it right now because I was told that I was supposed to come here and I did not come…it is because I did not know anything about it. So I wanna get that out in the open right away. Somebody tried to pull a fast one by saying that I am supposed to come to Belize. I gotta know about coming to Belize cause if I know about it, I’m going to be here with bells on. The right people put it together and it is happening right now…so much fun. You would never believe.”

Isani Cayetano

“What would you tell your fans in other to draw them out to Princess Poolside on Friday night? Give us a little bit of Glen Washington that would entice those who follow your music to come out and enjoy the concert.”

Glen Washington

“Just come expecting a musical blessing cause that’s what we give and we take this very serious; it is very serious. As for me it is my ministry to go out and make people feel good musically and they get the right music and they don’t have to worry about covering their ears or covering the kids ears because we make nice clean music…keep it real. If you come expecting to hear the derogatories, you will not hear it from Glen Washington…straight up.”

Isani Cayetano

“It is a pre-Father’s Day concert so to speak. So what’s your message to the fathers who are going to be attending the concert?”

Glen Washington

“Bring all the women them come on out and love them how I would love them because all the ladies dah my powder-puff; we love them to the bone…ask her. (laughs)”

Tickets are currently on sale and can be bought at Doony’s and Tease Gift Shop inside the Princess Hotel & Casino.
