P.U.C. to award $5,000 to logo designer
Right about now more than a few parents, myself included, are having to get creative to meet back to school expenses. But if you’ve got a little bit of an imagination, a contest by the Public Utilities Commission might solve most of your money problems. Five thousand dollars … that’s how much the P.U.C. is giving away to the person whose design is chosen as its new logo. Public Relations Officer Ann Wade explains.
Ann Wade, Public Relations, P.U.C.
?Nothing wrong with the old logo, but I?ll tell you why the new logo. The new logo emanated from the I.D.B. project that was launched over two years ago. I don?t know if you remember, but we had a launching of the strengthening of the P.U.C. project that is funded by the I.D.B. And one of the components of that project … we?ve been going almost two year now and we?re almost finished with that project. And one of the components was communications and public relations consultancy, and the achieving of a new logo came out of that consultancy.?

?So that is where we?re getting the five thousand dollars from??
Ann Wade
?That as well as a new symbol, a new brand, a new image that the P.U.C. as an organization, the officers, the members of staff of the organization can rally around that, and can actually be proud to say that they stand under this banner.?
The P.U.C. logo contest has been on since June and will end at noon on Thursday. The winner will be announced on September seventeenth. For more information on the rules of the logo competition, you can visit the P.U.C. website at www.puc.bz or call the commission at 227-1176.
