Stealing a 5 gallon will get you arrest

Denfield Lemmott

In magistrate court, a repeat offender made another scheduled appearance. Thirty-four year old Denfield Lemmott, was arraigned on a single count of theft when he appeared in the magistrate’s court this morning.  Lemmott is accused of stealing a five-gallon Crystal water bottle valued at thirty dollars, the property of Joan Burke.  The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday.  In court, Lemmott, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to the charge.  Prosecutor Noel Muschamp objected to bail on the grounds that Lemmott was previously before the court for a similar offense.  Lemmott, whose voice would not be bottled up by the court, claimed that he was being targeted by a pair of officers who are out to get him.  Magistrate Adolph Lucas Jr. granted Lemmott bail in the sum of one thousand dollars plus one surety of the same amount.  His case has been adjourned to July twenty-sixth.
