Marijuana in the coconut tree

People hide their drugs under the bed, in their closet and in food cans. But a family was charged for drugs in a coconut tree. Six persons were taken before Magistrate Adolph Lucas today to answer to a single charge of possession of controlled drugs found during a GSU raid on a Belize City home. They include a mother, her two sons, two female minors whom the mother was babysitting and a female adult at the house at the time of the search. Fifty year old Sharon Rowland did not waste time and pleaded guilty to the charge for thirteen parcels of marijuana which were found hidden in a coconut tree. She was fined eight hundred dollars which she must pay by September eighth or face eight months in prison. Her sons, Randy and Alrick August, along with the two minors and Kadejah Avilez, all pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor noted that he could not withdraw charges against them at this time even though Rowland had pleaded guilty, because that could only be done at the discretion of the D.P.P.  The two men and Avilez were granted bail in the sum of one thousand dollars plus a surety of the same amount while the two minors were granted bail of five hundred dollars each, plus a surety in the same amount and handed into the care of a guardian. They are to return to court on August second, 2013.

What GOB need to do is decriminalize marijuana, find a way to tax it and allow roots people to make a little money in the Belizean economy that is constantly shrinking.
Listen, alcohol, which does not have nearly the medicinal value as cannabis, is quite legal, and time and space will not allow me to list all the harmful effects.
I don’t even smoke weed but I have seen the medicinal good it does to some that do.

It seems that it is always the small fish getting busted for small quantity of marijuana but you do not hear or read on the news that the big fish got busted. Why is that?
