N.A.C.A. to hold anti-crime awareness day
In response to rising rates of crime and violence, one newly formed association has launched a country wide awareness campaign. According to Dr. Leopold Miller, Chairman of the National Anti-Crime Association of Belize, on Saturday the B.T.L. park in Belize City will be the venue of the organization’s first anti-crime awareness day. Miller says the event will include music, dancing, food and most importantly, a message.

?We have special speakers in the morning from ten maybe up until eleven thirty, where the official ceremony starts off with guest speakers. Then in the afternoon we will have activities with the different bands, dancers, performers and they will also be kid rides. There are a number of activities that we will have.?

?What will me the main message to the wider society about how this day will impact crime rates??
Dr. Leopold Miller
?We are looking at creating an awareness where we can heighten the awareness and the consciousness of the vicious crimes that have been happening. How can we actually come together?we know that there are solutions suggested. There are concerns, ideas and we want to be able to tap into these concerns and ideas. We want to have our citizens from different communities come. And if we have an information box for them to actually drop in their suggestions, and how we can improve our communities, create more peace and create safer areas for kids and for ourselves.?
The event is scheduled to start at ten tomorrow morning.
