Robbers get captured after committing crime
Also on Friday, around two-thirty that afternoon, a store in the Saint Matthew’s Village near mile thirty-nine on the western highway, was the target for an armed robbery. Seventeen year old victim, Elsworth Cus, told News Five off camera that he was alone at home with his mentally challenged brother when two men entered the store: one armed with a knife and the other with a homemade handgun. According to Cus, the men tied them up and began to ransack the home.

“I was sitting down doing a puzzle and then he just walk into me, punch me in the face and then the next one lock up the shop and den dehn ker me into di shop and den ask for money. I give them the money den afterwards dehn ask me for phone cards. I give dem di cards. Deh ask fi all di phone cards and I gave him all ah it. Dehn put it in di bag and den we went upstairs. When we went upstairs he ask me for my ma room first. I show him my mother’s room and den afterwards he start asking all kinds of questions; where is the money. They punch me in the face to make me forget the name and dehn start kick me up and di drop down pan di floor. Den dehn start kick me up and my nose start to bleed. Den dehn lift me up back again and bring me downstairs and put me fi lay down. When I lay down my lee bredda come in and he mi wah struggle but I hold him back because dehn mi wah shoot ah if ih mi struggle. I put him beside me. Den di other one continue searching di shop, drop down everything. Afterwards when ih finish we two of us went upstairs again and dehn put we fi lay down on the bed. Afterwards dehn start take di duct-tape and tie up. Dehn tie my lee bredda first and put he fi lay down pan di ground. Den dehn tie me and put me fi lay down pan di ground too.”

“No only my hand and foot but dehn tell we noh fi shout or anything cause they will shoot us. Dehn put me to face my brother’s back so I couldn’t see where they went but after like one or two minutes I get up and when I look they gone through the next door.”
The two men made good their escape towards a dirt road leading to the More Tomorrow Village. That was short lived as neighbors called the police and quick response led to the capture of the men and the return of the stolen items. The culprits have since been identified as twenty-three year old Randolph Young of Saint Matthews Village and twenty-six year old Pedro Pech of Roaring Creek. Both have been charged with Robbery.
