Man gets a year for possession of drug paraphernalia
In other news from the courts, the brother of the Commissioner of Police, sixty-four year old William Jeffries doesn’t seem to have much regard for the law. And after eight previous drug related convictions, Jeffries finds himself behind bars for Possession of a three and a half inch pipe used to smoke drugs. The Tigris Street resident was searched and arrested by police patrolling Cemetery Lane on Saturday night. When he appeared before Magistrate Aretha Ford today, he pleaded guilty to the possession charge and while he was hoping for a non-custodial sentence, he got one year in prison because of his long list of past offences.
