Truck driver charged in deadly traffic accident
The driver of the vehicle involved in the year’s most tragic traffic accident has been arrested and charged. According to police reports, this morning fifty-seven year old Carlos Correa Fernandez was charged with five counts of Manslaughter, five counts of Causing Death by Careless Conduct, two counts of Negligent Grievous Harm, one count of Negligent Harm and one count of Driving a Motor Vehicle Without Due Care and Attention. Correa has been granted bail and ordered to return to court on September eighth. Around nine on the first of August, Correa’s Isuzu pick-up was travelling at high speed when it went out of control and skidded into a group of passengers who had gathered on the side of the road after their bus broke down. As a result of the collision, five people: Isabela Flores, Devon Flores, Duncan Smith, Hebias Ibanis and Celestia Guy were pronounced dead at the scene.
