Guatemalan national and 17 pounds of weed in San Ignacio
A Guatemalan national is in big trouble with local authorities after he was busted in the west on Tuesday with over seventeen pounds of weed. Just after ten a.m., San Ignacio Police intercepted a B.B.O.C. bus at the corner of Fifth Street and Joseph Andrews Drive in San Ignacio Town. During a search, eighteen year old Cesar Vargas was acting suspiciously as he sat in the middle of the bus. According to police it was because inside a knap sack on his lap were two parcels which contained suspected cannabis. Also found was another knap sack under the seat between Vargas’ feet. That bag contained two additional parcels also containing suspected cannabis. Vargas was escorted to the San Ignacio Town Police Station. The drugs, weighed in his presence, amounted to a whopping seventeen and a quarter pounds. Vargas, a Guatemalan of Barrio Campito, Melchor de Mencos, Guatemala was formally charged today with Drug Trafficking.
