Restaurateur robbed and shot in late night hold-up
A Belize City businessman is lucky to be alive tonight after armed thugs ambushed him in front of his house. Forty-three year old Hoa Min Huang has reported that around midnight on Thursday, he and his wife got to their Queen Charlotte Street home only to be greeted by five masked and armed men. The group demanded money and the restaurant proprietor handed over a thousand dollars in cash and a cell phone. But the loot wasn’t enough for the thieves as one man fired three shots at the couple. Hoa fell to the ground and the bandits took off in a blue car. The injured man has been admitted to ward at Universal Health Services, suffering from gunshot wounds to his hip and abdomen.
