Fight over parking spot ends in life behind bars
The case of a fatal fight over a parking space more than two years ago has ended with a verdict of life behind bars. According to court reports, around five this evening, Kirk Gordon was convicted by a jury of ten women and two men of the murder of Arthur Ellis. Justice Troadio Gonzales immediately sentenced Gordon to life imprisonment. In November 2003 an argument over a parking spot on Kraal Road escalated to violence when a knife was introduced to the quarrel. A mobile patrol in the area came upon the scene and saw Gordon hitting Ellis with a stick. The murder weapon was later found near the victim’s body. Kamar Henry prosecuted the case while defence attorney was Simeon Sampson.
