Afternoon shooting leaves one hospitalized

Belize City police are tonight on the lookout for one suspect involved in a shooting in the downtown area around noon today. According to reports, twenty year old Chris Hernandez was on his way to buy lunch when he was shot once in his lower right abdomen at the corner of Rocky Road and West Canal. Residents in the area tell News Five that Hernandez was trying to subdue an argument between the gunman and another man, when the assailant turned on him, firing a total of six shots. The attacker then jumped on his bicycle and fled the scene. Hernandez was rushed to the K.H.M.H. for treatment where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
