Accountant fined $12,000 for forgery
An accountant has been fined a total of twelve thousand dollars for the forging of cheques. Thirty-eight year old Glenford Cadle of Corozal Town had pleaded guilty to three counts of forgery and three counts of claiming upon a forged document, when he appeared for sentencing this morning before Justice Adolph Lucas. Lucas ordered a two thousand dollar fine on each count, to be paid by December twenty-ninth. If Cadle fails to pay up he will spend a year in jail for each count. Cadle was arrested following a report by his employer, Tabony Industries that twenty-seven thousand dollars was missing from the company. It was later shown that in 2002 and 2003 a number of cheques under Cadle’s control had been altered to increase their amounts.
