Honduran national charged for Roaring Creek Murder
Just before eight on Friday morning, thirty-three year old Nigel Neal was gunned down in front of his mother’s house on Progress Avenue in Roaring Creek Village. Blue, as he was affectionately known, was killed by a gunman who lay-waited him as he returned from the Belmopan Police Station. Residents say up to five shots were fired at Neal and police have confirmed that he was shot to the abdomen, left arm, right side of the face and to the right hip. Within two hours after the murder, two men were detained near the Guanacaste Park at the junction of the George Price and Hummingbird Highways. Police have since charged twenty year old Honduran national, Erlin Giovanni Archiaga, with the crime of murder.

“Does he reside here in Belize?”
ASP Sinquest Martinez
“No, he doesn’t reside here in Belize.”
Reporter
“So he was brought in for this hit, you believe?”
ASP Sinquest Martinez
“I will not answer that.”

“Sir, I know that last week when we spoke with you, you did not have a motive for that murder. What’s the motive now being that of course you’ve arrested a Honduran national for the death?”
ASP Sinquest Martinez
“I wouldn’t want to discuss the motive because the investigation still continues and probably other people might be implicated. From the time the police responded to the report; the description of the person, the clothing that they were wearing and the manner they were found…within less than two hours. And when they were brought in to the police station, certain things transpired which also assisted us.”
Archiaga was arraigned before Magistrate Aretha Ford early this afternoon. He was remanded and is set to return to court on December third.
