Woman, minor and two men linked to the murder of Daniel Aguirre

Noel Torres

The charred body of Daniel Aguirre, a Belmopan taxi driver who in 2011 captured the title of KTV Latino, was found in his taxi last Saturday morning in the Arizona area of Teakettle on the George Price Highway. The motive of his murder is still under investigation, but tonight four persons linked to Aguirre’s murder are in custody. The suspects include a couple, forty-one year Blanca Dominguez and her husband, forty-nine year old Miguel, a minor and twenty nine year old Noel Alexander Torres. All four appeared in the Belmopan Magistrate Court this morning and were charged with firearm offenses. But so far none has been charged with murder even though it is expected that shortly at least one of the suspects will reappear in court for the heinous murder. Aguirre’s licensed firearm a CZ-seventy-five nine millimetre pistol and twenty live rounds were found at Martinez’s house during a police search. Police say there is reason to believe that the case will soon be cracked because they found another weapon which is believed to have been used in the murder.

“So far, what has the investigation shown with regards to the death? Has it indicated whether the deceased was killed before being burnt or whether he was burnt alive?”

Via Phone: ASP Sinquest Martinez

“I don’t want to go much into that, but we have recovered the deceased’s firearm; we have recovered the weapon we think was used in committing the crime. We have found what appears to be blood stains that we are working on likewise.”

Duane Moody

“Where was this firearm located and how did police come up on it?”

Via Phone: ASP Sinquest Martinez

“This was found at a house in Teakettle Village. Like I said, I don’t want to divulge much information. Both that and the suspected murder weapon were found at a residence in Teakettle Village.”

“Yes, four persons have been charged: Miguel Dominguez; his wife, Blanco Dominguez, a minor and the suspect. They have been charged for Handling Stolen goods, Kept Unlicensed Ammunition and Firearm. They went to court this morning and the suspect pleaded guilty and he will serve five, five and one years. The investigation still continues, we are not finished as yet and we will not finish until the matter goes to court and we seek a conviction and so we are very careful of how this one is being dealt with.”

The Dominguez couple and the minor are still on remand according to Assistant Superintendent Martinez since the charges were not withdrawn.
