B.T.B. robber sentenced to 46 years in prison
Twenty-two year old Clarence Lamb, accused of robbing the Belize Tourism Board of over two thousand dollars on January second, had his day in court today. After changing his plea from not guilty to guilty, Lamb learnt his sentence which amounted to forty-six years in prison for ten criminal charges. Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith, after listening to his plea for leniency, sentenced him to twelve years for robbery, two ten-year terms for the firearm related offense and two years each for the seven counts of aggravated assault with a firearm upon seven employees of the B.T.B. But he will only be serving twelve years since the sentences run concurrently. This afternoon, Lamb, who is still limping from a gunshot injury he suffered during the brazen heist, was convicted of ten related offenses, including seven counts of aggravated assault, one count of robbery and two firearm-related offenses. The facts against Lamb regarding the B.T.B. armed robbery is that around four-thirty on January second two men, one who was never arrested, entered the B.T.B. offices on Regent Street armed with a firearm. Lamb pointed the firearm at casher, Maria Zetina, and demanded that she handed over the cash. Fearing for her life, Zetina complied with her attackers and handed over two cash pans containing close to two thousand dollars.
It is very sad to know thatout of the 46 he will only serve 12
