GSU fire warning shots to diffuse a brawling mob

There were sporadic shooting incidents over the weekend. Also in the city, a confrontation between apparently intoxicated revelers, following the carnival j’ouvert on Saturday morning, has resulted in one person being hospitalized after being injured during a stoning.  The melee which unfolded near Renaissance Towers caught the attention of personnel from the Gang Suppression Unit, who were stationed nearby.  As a result, several warning shots were fired in the air to diffuse the brawling mob.  When the fighting subsided one of the men, identified as eighteen-year-old Rudolph Ramsey, had to be transported to the K.H.M.H. for medical attention.  His injuries were classified as being caused by a blunt object, presumably from a rock or stick that was hurled in his direction.  The GSU reiterates that no one was injured during the shooting as is being widely rumored.
