New Hope High School student stabbed to death days after his birthday
There was a stabbing in Orange Walk this afternoon which claimed the life of an eighteen year old student of New Hope High School. Police are still conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident so details are sketchy at this time. But, News Five has confirmed that Darrel Wade was riding his bicycle near the Orange Walk Multi-purpose Complex at about three-thirty this afternoon when he was allegedly attacked by two men, one of whom stabbed him to the right side of the chest. Police have since apprehended that individual, identified as Keith Gaynair, and are said to be in possession of the knife allegedly used in the stabbing. Wade was rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injury shortly after. It is believed that the attack was gang related, but police have revealed no motive at this time. Wade turned eighteen just days ago, on September fifteenth. We’ll have more on this story in Wednesday’s newscast.
