U.D.P. says they will pull back campaign against the recall of Penner

If Penner does the unthinkable and refuses to resign that leaves a recall as the only process to get rid of him. For the past week, the P.U.P. has been trying to get the eighteen hundred signatures to trigger the recall. In that week, the U.D.P. has been actively campaigning to derail the recall process. Not any more…says PM Dean Barrow. He scoffs at the P.U.P.’s inability to get the necessary signatures and expresses doubt that they can get it done. But he says the U.D.P. will pull back from campaigning against the recall of Penner, and will allow the chips to fall where they may.

“With respect to the recall mechanism, we are not going to go out there and ask people to sign the recall petition. The majesty’s loyal opposition has undertaken that assignment and we will give them ample opportunity to complete their assignment. We would certainly I believe take down the banners that say don’t sign the recall petition and we will not have people on the streets in Cayo Northeast telling the voters not to sign the recall petition. So let that process work and let the chips fall where they may. Penner has reached the end of the road with the United Democratic Party. But while we have taken a decision that is entirely within our authority as cabinet, I don’t believe we want to preempt the larger party, but I would give you my personal opinion and I suspect that would also be the position of my colleagues. We are not going to go out there and slaughter Penner. We are not going to do it. Nobody in view of the actions that we took at the start and in view of the further actions that we are taking now can question our bonafide is. But to ask us to actually join some sort of a street campaign against a former colleague, we believe is asking us to go too far.”
U can’t. He has the dirt on all of u. U went to Cayo and read the mood and came back to Belize City with your tail between your legs. If u were in court on behalf of your client, u would be fired! Your arguments and logic keep changing and u are all over the place. U HAVE NO CREDIBILITY. U have become what u always were SAID MUSA!

So where does the UDP leadership plan to run to now? I guess Eric Change has left the building, he just needs someone to liquidate his assets in Belize and wire it to him. Penner goes to prison. Where will Barrow bolt to? Erlington might head to Guatemala, but he is relatively clean, dual citizenship might be his best option. Castro heads to Bootyland, Boots might beat him.
If the international community starts blocking Belizean passports, your options get tight. Taiwan might not take you, could make it difficult dealing with the next administration. The South Koreans are probably not too happy now with you, Kim is their fish, and you cut into that.
In a year it will be fascinating reading as to where the old UDP team ended up. Great stories I am sure.
It took a while for Barrow to come to his senses. He still address Penner as Honorable, but we the people feel that to do so is to destroy the integrity of the word. Barrow have always flip flap with words, but we need honest leadership. The Belizean people have lost all confidence in this bunch of Ministers and need a vote of NO CONFIDENCE. We are not sorry that you failed us, but…yes we are sorry that you don’t want to step down. Do the honorable thing and resign in droves!
