GSU anti-drug operation in city yields 20lbs of weed
In its latest anti-drug operation in the City, the Gang Suppression Unit retrieved over twenty pounds of marijuana. The bust took place on Monday afternoon in the Dyke Area of Faber’s Road. Over three pounds of the weed were found in a refrigerator and the remaining quantity was found in a bucket. No one was in the area, but the GSU says a reputed drug trafficker lives in close proximity. In respect of a major bust in the west over the weekend, which yielded one hundred pounds of the weed, two persons were arraigned in the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court. Sergio Vega and Gustavo Ruiz pleaded not guilty to Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply, Being Concerned in the Supply of a Controlled Drug to Another and Supplying a Controlled Drug to Another. Vega was additionally charged for Being Concerned in the Making of an Offer to Supply a Controlled Drug to Another, Offering to Supply a Controlled Drug to Another and Conspiracy to Commit the Crime of Supplying a Controlled Drug to Another. Meanwhile, a warrant of apprehension is in effect for Anibal Garcia, who fled the scene where the drugs were found.
