National Security Minister says he is unaware of the sale of entry permits

John Saldivar

Minister of National Security, John Saldivar, has also responded to questions regarding his possible involvement in the sale of visas, in light of recent reports that there is an ongoing quota system being implemented among senior government officials.  According to Saldivar, allegations against Minister of State Edmund Castro, who has been named in the sale of visas to Chinese nationals, need to be answered by him.  Furthermore, he told the media this morning that he is unaware of the proportional sharing of the sale of entry permits.

Reporter

“New information is coming out regarding this whole immigration scandal, new names are being called.  I wanted to ask you personally, are you or were you involved in any way in this immigration scandal?”

Voice of: John Saldivar, Minister of National Security

“Definitely not.”

Reporter

“In any of the activities?”

Voice of: John Saldivar

“Yo noh even need fi ask da question man.  Definitely not, okay.”

Reporter

“What about other ministers of cabinet.  Is the cabinet itself investigating any other person other than Minister Penner?  Minister Castro’s name has also come up.”

Voice of: John Saldivar

“They will have to answer for themselves.”

Reporter

“As a senior member of cabinet though what is your comment after watching Channel Five’s news of this new person coming out alleging or giving specifics as to how this was done, calling out Minister Castro.  Does this concern you any at all that this may actually shake your government down?”

Voice of: John Saldivar

“At this point in time I would want to think that the Channel Five report has not provided to me any proof so far.  But I expect that Mr. Castro would be able to answer for what he has been accused of.”

Reporter

“Were you aware of anyone having such an operation where they would have an intermediary who would bring passports and then you help with the application, you give your recommendations.  Were you aware of such a system in operation?”

Voice of: John Saldivar

“Definitely not, not aware of such an operation.”

Reporter

“But wouldn’t that fit in with information of a quota system where you could say well, “ah got twenty visas to give this month and then ah just di send these applications?”

Voice of: John Saldivar

“I think the Minister of Immigration has said that there is no quota system.  I don’t know of any quota system.”

We’ll keep following this story as more information is revealed.

Salvidar trots out his clueless defense:

“I just run national security, I know nothing, I see nothing, I hear nothing.”

“If I did see something, hear something, or know something, I cannot tell you for reasons of national security.”

“Believe me, I am a trust worthy UDP elected politician protecting every Belizean.

“I shall testify there are no foxes in the chicken coop as of 4:48pm tonight.”

“If I have been deceived, then I have been deceived.”

“when I leave government I have a well paying job to go to.”

“it will be impossible to send me to prison. I know that much.”

These men play games with the Belizean people because they think we don’t know better. If the Prime Minister said he told them, ‘If anyone of you guys are hustling from this visa skam, you had better stop. Not once, not twice, but after every other cabinet meeting. How could John say; “Definitely not, not aware of such an operation.” If the PM brought it up so many times in the meetings, was he ASLEEP, DRUNK, OF DOWN RIGHT RETARDED? We know he is none of the above!

A two bedroom house loan is usually for 30 years. A 50 to $100,000 plus loan could be for the same amount of years. However for a $600 thousand dollars mansion to a million dollars, the Bank might give you some of the money, but not the whole money, especially not to a MINISTER, because they are not sure you are going to be a minister 4 years from now, worse ten years from now. Their 80 gran dollars salary is far from adequate to finance a six hundred thousand dollars mansion, so THESE MEN HAVE TO BE getting huge sums from SOMEWHERE. You can fool many people but you cannot fool a person who have experience. That is BS!
