Minister Hulse not afforded courtesy

Godwin Hulse

The business of the Senate motion has been front and center, much like the immigration scandal which spawned it. There will be no appointment of a Senate Select Committee because not one government senator of the six supported the motion. But where the scandal is concerned, there are allegedly three investigations currently underway – one being conducted by the Police, one by the Financial Intelligence Unit and another by the office of the Auditor-General. There has been no information coming out of any of those investigations, and none was provided by Minister of Immigration Godwin Hulse on Wednesday. But while Hulse didn’t vent information, he did vent considerable passion on a matter which is obviously close to his heart. The People’s United Party held a press conference on October fifteenth and while Leader of the Opposition Francis Fonseca referred to Elvin Penner as Mister Penner, he didn’t afford Hulse that courtesy. The Minister was deeply offended.

Godwin Hulse, Leader of Government Business

“Mention was made of the activities surrounding the passport, and in such mention Mr. Penner’s name was called nine times, the Prime Minister, and then Mr. Barrow and then Barrow one time but however, Mr. President, the Leader of the Opposition, my honourable colleague of the House of Representatives left no doubt that his venom was directed at me, quoting – “a hypocritical Godwin Hulse who had a lot to say before he became a member of government but now that he’s enjoying the perks of power and the sweets of government…now all he can do is find excuses, excuses, excuses. He is responsible for Mr. Penner’s actions…he is responsible for Mr. Penner’s behavior and he too must go.” So far so good Mr. President….we understand this in the hurly burley of politics. What I don’t understand however, is the fact that Mr. Penner was fashioned with the dignity of being called Mr. Penner, but for an honourable colleague in the House or particularly in the Senate, no reference to the Minister and no reference to Mr. Hulse…but Godwin Hulse. That is the politics of the day.”

Well! Well! The point of this thing from the way i see it is that Fonseca was will giving his respect to a mennonite man but not to the other black person like him. He is ready to bow down even if he is considered a criminal. but we belizean hate ourself we have a whhite man all the respect. This is still a colonial mentality and potential PM still has this mentality. That is the jist of all this. any common sense person could have read between the lines on this.
