Edwin Flowers appointed Solicitor General of Belize
May thirty-first has also marked the official end of the contract of the Solicitor General Elson Kaseke. Fonseca today told us who has been tapped to fill the post of government’s top lawyer.
Francis Fonseca, Attorney General
?We have been able to secure the services of Mr. Edwin Flowers. Senior Council Edwin Flowers, who will come in to serve at least one year as Solicitor General. It is obviously going to be an intern period but we are very happy. Mr. Edwin Flowers, your viewers may certainly recall, served as the Solicitor General back in 1999-2001, for a period of two years. Then Mr. Kaseke took over from him, so now that Mr. Kaseke is going we turned again to Edwin, and he was very gracious in accepting. He is a lawyer in private practice and it is very difficult to get these private lawyers to leave the lucrative private practice to go into the public service, but he has done it before, so he is committed to public service. So we are very glad that he agreed to do so and he is obviously very seasoned and competent.?
