Faber says it is attempt by the P.U.P. to try to scandal his ministry
Grants that are provided to all thirty-one area representatives to assist the students of their respective constituencies with the cost of education are distributed at the discretion of the individual area representative. In one case the money was used toward the tertiary education of the Orange Walk South area representative. The electorate, according to Faber, should hold their area representatives accountable for the equitable distribution of grant disbursals.
Patrick Faber, Minister of Education
“What I shared with you is that one of the PUP’s representative who gave his own son a thousand dollar grant to UB. Like I said, I don’t sit down and look at all of the representatives and show all that they get and who they give it to. I leave that to their discretion and they bring in who they want to award these things to and they give it to my secretary. She does not know everybody but she writes the letter based on the representatives. But I will tell you and I have provided you with the document for that, you are correct, they can’t blame me for that but I trust the representatives. The people elected these representatives, you know. The people of Orange Walk North represented Mr. Vega, the people of Collet elected me and if I am given the resources to help them I will help them. Now if dehn tek it and use it to help themselves and help somebody else they are the ones who are to be held accountable for that, not the minister and not the Ministry of Education.”
You got that right Patrick, PUP smear campaign.
Congratulations on having THE Worst education system in the Caribbean. No scandal there.
The PUP has not figured out how to use that to their advantage, so let’s write that off as a UDP victory master minded by you.
