Burglary suspect shot during arrest in Corozal
In the north, Corozal cops have reported that the capture of a wanted man ended in gunshots. Authorities say Brandon Gilharry is the prime suspect in connection with two burglary cases so when officers spotted him in San Antonio around eight thirty on Wednesday night, they attempted to detain him. But it is alleged that when the constables approached, Gilharry picked up a machete and threatened the police. The officers maintained they repeatedly asked Gilharry to put down the machete but when he continued with his menacing behaviour, he was shot in his right knee. Gilharry was rushed to the Corozal Hospital for treatment and remains admitted to ward under police guard. He has since been charged for two counts of aggravated assault. We understand that Gilharry’s possible involvement in the two burglary cases will continue while he recuperates from his injury.
