Muschamp back at work!

Twenty-seven year old Sharie Muschamp, a mother of two is today fortunately back at her desk at the International Business Company Registry. Muschamp was scheduled to return to work last Friday, but she was escorted out of the offices located on the second floor of the Marina Towers on Princess Margaret Drive. In a back and forth with government, which assumed control of the registry in June 2013, she was wrongly being declared medically unfit for government service.  Muschamp, whose maternity leave expired last Thursday, was set to resume her responsibilities as a receptionist, but was informed in a letter by I.B.C. Registrar, Gian Gandhi, that she was unsuitable to return to the post.  That decision was taken without Muschamp appearing before a medical board.  Subsequently, attorney Audrey Matura-Shepherd was retained to represent Muschamp.  In a release issued by Matura-Shepherd, she refutes Gandhi’s assertion that Muschamp had received her maternity benefits and salary.  Despite returning to work this morning, it is still unclear what the new arrangements are concerning Muschamp’s employment.

“Well Ms. Shari Muschamp reported back to work today. We say work because as far as she knows she was not fired by anyone. She was not denied entry into the building. She had a meeting with the acting boss Mr. Santiago Gonzalez. They discussed her employment. She was told certain things verbally. My advice to her it had to be in writing. I had subsequently wrote a letter to Mr. Gonzalez and copied it to Mr. Ghandi to make sure that they give us in writing what the proposal is. Up to know, I have been calling every hour to see what the response as to what terms she has been retained there. If it is a new hiring, if she has been rehired, for now at least we know she is back at work. How much salary she will be get and all of that has not been given to us in writing. Certain things have been said to her but we won’t reveal it because as I said at this point we are negotiation to make sure that Sharie is treated fairly. If not satisfied what the outcome should be then clearly we know that we have to take other recourse. So the good news I must thank you all because had the media not expose it all I don’t think we would have gotten such quick response.”

According to Matura-Shepherd, she has made several attempts to get in touch with the management of I.B.C. to finalize the terms of Muschamp’s return but those efforts were futile.
