Police foil robbery in Orange Walk

In Orange Walk, cops are patting themselves on the back after they bagged a couple of burglars in the act. Around eleven on Friday night, a police patrol was cruising on the Belize Corozal Road when they spotted a man jumping through the window of the Hong Fua Store. Sensing trouble, the officers chased and detained the suspect. When the cops went back to the scene and searched the shop, they found another person inside the building, trying to blend in with the groceries. Subsequent investigations led police to an area near the store where they found two hundred and fifteen dollars in cash, nineteen packs of cigarettes, two bottles of rum and a number of telephone cards. The busted men have been identified as twenty three year old Shawn Richards and nineteen year old Dennis Velasquez. Both men have since been charged with burglary.
