Hitchhikers rob driver; busted by cops

Down south, cops have charged a couple of hitchhikers after they attacked the good people who gave them a ride. Thirty three year old Vicente Sackul and a female companion were driving to Laguna Village around one on Saturday morning when they saw two people thumbing for a ride. Sackul pulled over and the duo jumped into the pan. As the truck drove through Hopeville, the passengers indicated they were ready to get off. But just as Sackul was ready to drive off, the hitchhikers ambushed him, pulling him from the cab and beating him into submission. The assailants then robbed Sackul of two hundred and fifty dollars in cash and a cell phone and gold chain from his female friend. The thieves then jumped into the truck and disappeared into the darkness. The victims were able to get to a phone and called the cops. Fortunately, a police mobile patrol intercepted the stolen vehicle about four miles away and the two men were arrested. The duo have been identified as twenty two year old Glenford Soberanis and twenty two year old Jesus Bol. Soberanis and Bol have been jointly charged with robbery, wounding and theft. Bol has been additionally charged with driving without a valid driver’s permit and operating a motor vehicle above the prescribed limit.
