Unsolved Mystery: who killed Zoila Gracia in Las Flores?
Twenty-nine year old Zoila Elizabeth Garcia was brutally slain a block away from her home on Orquidea Street in Las Flores on Tuesday night. She was shot once to the back of the head by an unknown assailant. The businesswoman had reportedly set out on foot to meet someone near the football field when she met her untimely end. The family says that Elizabeth had in her possession a total of three thousand, seven hundred dollars; proceeds from the sale of phone credits, prior to leaving their residence that night. Whether she completed the transaction she had mentioned to them moments earlier remains a mystery, as the money was not found on her person when Belmopan police came across her lifeless body. Despite a number of leads and one person in custody, police say they are no closer to solving the heinous crime. It is theorized that Garcia may have been a victim of a crime of passion. Likewise, it is believed that she may have been lured to her death before being robbed of the cash she had on her.
