Group of Sri Lankans detained in Chetumal

We have been reporting on a long list of visas procured by ministers of government exclusively for Chinese nationals even though it is not a legal requirement for ministers to facilitate visas. It is well known, however, that nationals from various countries, who cannot get visas to enter the United States, go through a complex process to obtain Belize visas to eventually make it to the US. Tonight, we can report that a group of nationals from Sri Lanka is detained across the border in Chetumal. A newspaper report says that the group of five, three adults and two minors entered Chetumal via Belize. The newspaper reports that thirty four year old Chandrika Niroshan, thirty one year old  Doorandinga Niroshan, and another adult named  Silvapatham, twenty-seven years of age were busted in Ucum, a Chetumal hotel over the weekend. Mexican immigration authorities questioned the adults who were unable to provide proof that they had legally entered Mexico. The group was transported to immigration facilities were they remain in detention. The newspaper says that it is likely that the group was taken across the border for a fee by a handler. We have been unsuccessful in determining whether they had acquired Belize visas legally or if they are a part of the ongoing human trafficking ring.
