Single shot kills Belize City youth in Yabra

While police were busy connecting the dots in the Brannon murders, officers were called to another shooting, this time in the Yabra area.

Twenty four year old Tyrone Felix was on his way home from the City Centre?s Mother?s Day Bash when he was shot in the back of his head at thee corner of Gill Street and Faber?s Road. Therese Felix says because of the crime situation she always feared that one of her sons would be killed.

?Well in a way I am not surprised because the way Belize the go right now, dah anybody turn. Once you have young children out there, not even, you on a hold are in danger, once you got children out there they are in danger. Dah anybody, it could be you. It stupid, it senseless.?

Reports are that Felix was followed by an unidentified vehicle described only as a green car that later picked up a man seen running from the crime scene. Felix says they have received information that the killer was waiting for her son in this abandoned lot and as he passed by he was shot.

Felix says she does not know why anyone would want her son dead.

?That is the same thing I want to know too. And I want to know if he see my son the trat and he had a gun why he couldn?t come to my son face to face. If they come to face to face I no seh he wouldn?t a mih dead, no, but then he would a mih defend himself. He neva had to come from behind, because dah from behind he come and shot him in the head back. That is execution style. He has his gun and he still coward.?

Police say they know Felix was on his way home but they are still trying to find out who pulled the trigger and why.

?On his way to his house Gill Street, he was shot somewhere on Fabers Road by a single gunman. So far we haven?t detained anybody in respect to that incident at this time.?

Neighbours say that this is not the first attempt on the life of Tyrone Felix.
