I don’t. They should choose times when they are not in classes like during their holidays, they get paid for those anyway and in doing it then, our kids are not cheated of their education. A teacher must have a passion otherwise I recommend finding another job. Our kids do not have to pay the price. And yes I pay BIG taxes!

  2. melvin says:

Well its wrong because the kids suffers the consecuences, but they are fighting for what is right and they have that duty for stand up againts GOB,corruption and many things affecting Belize because all of US PAY THE PRICE,of this corrupt, vindictive, arrogant UDP govt’-and we must not tolerate it any longer, and be it PUP-OR UDP,OR ANY P’.

Who doesn’t pay taxes Ana?! I support what the teachers, who by the way pay taxes also, are doing. They protest during school time because that is when everyone and the GOB will hear them and hopefully comply since they don’t want students to be out of school for long. Yes there are some teachers who aren’t deserving but what happens to those who go ALL out to get good results from our kids. Many of us expect MIRACLES from teachers. I know of teachers who have to go into their pockets to buy materials for schools and students, teachers who feed students, assist them with books and uniforms, teachers who have to put up with ill manner kids and the list goes on. Fair is Fair and I support them. STAND FOR SOMETHING OR FALL FOR ANYTHING. Belizeans have a problem with standing up for their rights and even so, they have a problem with people who stand up for their rights and belief

I fully support the teachers. Give them what they deserve. Belizean people have a serious problematical. We are a bunch of cowards when it comes to addressing issues in order to affect change. Being a teacher is not an easy task. The people love what they do and that’s why they stay in their profession. Many of these teachers are filling the gap parents should be responsible for. I think the quality of education will even improve if the teachers are treated fairly.

Its mostly the unions that stand up a fight for causes in this country. If it weren’t for the unions government would do as they please with the teachers. Look at other government workers, they have to take what they get when they get it and cannot publicly voice their opinion on any wrong that the government does for fear of being fired by their ‘god’ the ministers. When the teachers benefits everyone benefits from their immediate families, the banks the stores – u name it; an to hell with what anyone says- teachers work too damn hard during the day teaching and putting up with young people attitude and when they go home they still have school work to do and too tired for their own kids that is. If the teachers don’t fight for what they need NO ONE will!!!
