Sergeant at Arms is chopping victim
He is the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives, but that exalted title could not prevent Joseph Brown, better known as Brutus, from being on the wrong side of a sharp machete. Brown, currently in serious but stable condition at the K.H.M.H., was involved in an argument in front of the Royal Club on West Canal around six thirty last night. At some point in the confrontation, Wilfred Lemoth produced a machete and brought it down squarely on Brown’s neck, as well as his left hand. He underwent four hours of surgery. Lemoth appeared today in Magistrate’s court, charged with attempted murder and maim. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers remanded him to prison until May eighteenth.
