Also included in the lengthy Cabinet release is word that disgraced former Minister of State Elvin Penner will be stripped of his government vehicle. He has had it, and enjoyed that and all other financial perks of his political position, since September when the Won Hong Kim passport scandal broke. He will now be required to hand in the vehicle, though he will likely hold on to the perks. And to round it off, Cabinet reveals the chairmanship of the new Integrity Commission, though there is no word of an actual commission being formed. We note that that body has been inactive for years. The new Chair of that defunct committee will be ex-FIU director Marilyn Williams, who left the FIU last month to enter private practice.

This man is a sitting elected official of the government of Belize, silently supported by Ali to prevent the evil and lazy PUP from coming to power. Those lame thieves only bark and steal meat on the table.
Elvin, now that you are lonely, not getting a lot of high power calls and financial opportunities; time to call Castro to have him send over some of his spare used booty. One of them might actually own a car and can drive you around.

this integrity commission is going to make Ali’s 40 take multiple choice tests to see if their thieving and hiding are up to par? The only integrity in cabinet is not ratting each other out.
But some of the 40 are starting to have alzheimer’s, either loose lips, or memory lapses. How many checks is it Ali? 60, 20, 5? perhaps 10000 government wide.
Her first job is to find out why the proposed OSH laws are so oppressive: individuals business owners will pay $25,000 or one year in jail, and businesses $250,000 or one year in jail. Now I ask you, what jobs in Belize require this sledgehammer over the heads of Belizeans? Working at a Chinese grocery store? Working at Brodies, a Panades shop, government offices, selling lottery, picking oranges, cutting sugarcane, working as a tour guide, a truck driver, etc., etc.. How about a no fault Workers Compensation law first to protect the workers. We are burdening Belize with a first world problem at a very high cost. Belize is a very poor country(50% poverty) vis-à-vis the countries with these laws and they deal in very hazardous materials in their workplaces. Who exactly is this law targeting? I see a hidden evil, diabolical, malicious hand at work!!!

This government is going from grace to grass. I have come to the conclusion that this PM has no idea how to handle this corruption that he is faced with. He is giving investigative power to uneducated idiots to save his cabinet. If the PM react to all the corruption he will have no UDP cabinet members left, think about that.
It is our practise to place the word “Honorable” before the names of elected officials because who ever fills the post is expected to behave in an honorable manner however when they do not they should never be treated with the same respect!
The title should be earned not bestowed. Penner, Castro and all those that dishonor their office are all embarrasment to the country!
Barrow would get more respect from the public if he would do the right thing instead of cloaking these offenders with protection. It is very easy to win an election just do the right thing (remove offenders from their post, and call them out when necessary) then treat all people with respect and fairness regardless which color flag they wave.

Belizeans! Listen up. Corruption is the scourge of democracy. No country is immune to it. It is impossible to escape this scourge. Frankly, I am surprised at all the bawling you people are doing. You all know what the deal is,. Corruption is imbedded in the Belizean economy, politics and every other aspect of government. Hustle is the name of the game. The only way to stop corruption is by way of a totalitarian government or communism, where everyone is supposed to be equal. But even this system cannot stop corruption. You all are bawling like a virgin bride on her wedding night who didn’t know that she was expected to lie down and… (“fill in the blank”) . Everyone in Belize from top to bottom know that corruption is imbedded in our national psyche. So quit unu bawling, and lie down and … “fill in the blank”…Or do like the French Revolution..gather all dem theiving mothers up and parade them to Belmopan and chop off dem effing heads.
